Will you replace prescribed drugs with natural products?

Your Medical Doctor is responsible for making changes to your prescription drugs or other allopathic treatment. Some prescription drugs will deplete vital elements, such as vitamins, minerals or cofactors: if this is the case, I will complement your allopathic treatment as needed.

It is also important to remember that because a product is natural, it does not mean that it is safe in any dose and in any combination. Naturopathic Doctors are trained to be aware of the possible interactions and potential contraindications of natural products with prescription drugs; this is why we do not recommend self-treatment, especially when you are on prescription drugs.

How long does it take to see improvements or a cure?

Naturopathic Medicine encourages and empowers the patient to take responsibility for his/her health. As a partner and guide in that venture, I cannot guarantee cures but what I do offer is support and the best of current knowledge to help the body heal itself.

It takes perseverance to follow naturopathic treatments and see results. Natural products and treatments normally require more time than drugs to take effect. Some conditions markedly improve in a matter of weeks, others may take months.

As human beings we are creatures of habit, our lifestyle is a major factor in the development of imbalances that precede disease. Lifestyle changes are a major part of the healing journey and a harder, but necessary, one to implement on a long-term basis.

Do you refer?

I refer, as and when needed, to other health care providers, including MDs and Dentists. I strongly believe that the best care is the one offered by a team of professionals who, cooperatively, unite their knowledge in the best interest of the patient.
